Thames Valley Economic PartnershipProject: web site design, printed collateral, email marketing, exhibition displays The Thames Valley Economic Partnership (TVEP) is a network of major businesses and public sector organisations working together to achieve the vision of sustainable growth for the Thames Valley economy. They represent Berkshire's voice and vision at a regional and national level, helping to elevate local issues onto the broader agenda. TVEP was keen to make their web site work harder for them and push the norms for public sector information sites, and approached us to help achieve this goal. The approach Building on the success of 2 separate web sites previously developed by Flare, we needed to create a single version site with the amalgamation of content and functionality. The content needed for the site was very broad, and a crucial objective of the brief was to present a wide range of information in a clear and creative way. Working closely with TVEP we broke the site down into relevant colour coded sections. Imagery was key to the success of the site and we helped them identify a range of photography to ensure that the local business community felt this site reflected their ambitions in as accurate a way as possible. Content was also important and needed to encourage repeat visits and bookmarks for the page. There is a sophisticated directory, news and events section all of which is fully content managed, allowing TVEP to continually update the entire site. What did we learn? The new redesign promotes Thames Valley issues and campaigns about transport, skills, innovation, economic strategy, inward investment, sustainable business and infrastructure. Functionality includes RSS feeds, an innovative company directory, podcasts, polls, an event management system and newsletter distribution. TVEP have become far more open about their strategy and to this end the web site continues to develop. In addition to the site, and following its success, we have also developed a range of email broadcasts, printed collateral and exhibition material for TVEP. The next phase will be to create the opportunity for more discussions on the web site which will encourage more usage.
